not too bad. this week of exams flew past really quickly. still have one more paper to go next monday.
i actually am having a long weekend 'cos i havent had papers since thurs and ive already been doing stuff that i should be doing WHEN exams DO END proper on monday. haha!
after my paper on thurs, we played ultimate frisbee in the HUGGEEE field (with my boots and woollen jacket). winter does not deter us from running around like fools. after shedding all those pounds, we went to have iced tea and HUGE muffins. lol.
n on friday, i woke up with an achingggg body and went to watch Dark Knight & hv dinner. my stomach muscles were hurting soo bad i was trying soo hard not to laugh. quite difficult, considering wht clowns i have as friends. i looked soo stupid gg " HAHAHAhahaha....ooooouch!"

i miss the old batmobile.

So, after eons, the cousins reunited on msn. or at least 4 of us.
cousins namely: Anita (in brisbane)
Bhavani (in canberra who's anita's older sister)
Dinesh (My eldest brother in Perth)
Myself (in adelaide)

(R)Bhavani: rev you should plan a trip to syd/cbr at the end of the yr

DINE5H: ya rev, you should cycle there

Anita: or walk

Rev: I will consider it.

DINE5H: Anita, not everyone is as garang as you. walking is for toughnuts.

Bhavani: Family of comedians. Wait, are you saying i am a toughnut?

Anita: No, I'm the toughnut

DINE5H: Bhav, you are just a nut. Family of toughnut comedians.

Bhavani: (embarrassed smiley)

DINE5H: Don't act cute la

Bhavani: I dont have to act

DINE5H: shameless! Family of shameless toughnut comedians.

Bhavani: so who's going back to sg at the end of the year and when?

DINE5H: ok my ladies, i'll talk to you in half an hour. Don't go anywhere and feel free to talk behind my back.

Bhavani: ok we will.

Bhavani: u know what, i think i should go have another shower as well.. its soo cold outside a hot shower will be nice.

Anita: Back to the 2 of us

Rev: Yes, the exciting duo

Anita: Old people are naughty.

Rev: yeh, n they talk a lot. see how much anna (elder brother) and akka (elder sis) spoke

Bhavani: HELLO! I'M NOT OLD n I DON'T talk too MUCH

LOL

yeh, thats my family of "shameless toughnut comedians" who i miss very, very dearly.

Its taken me 2 days to post these pics 'cos blogger is just not cooperating, or rather, Australian INTERNET is not cooperating. There are loads more but at the rate the net is working, it could quite possibly take me a month or so.ha...ha.....ha.

Day 1

I guess the above pic speaks for itself. both pics were taken at great ocean road. i took tt second pic.i didnt even realise i changed my camera settings. so nice. haha!

Day 2

At the Wildlife Park.
The pretty but clueless cassowarys. My first attempt at feeding them...with gloves. Subsequent attempts were without gloves but those pics will prob take me another 2 days to post 'em.

He had a super tight grip on my hands. i had fingernail marks on them when he let go. n he reminded me of coby when i used to hold his treats up in the air n he wld stand on his hind legs and try to reach. so cute. (check out the size of my pockets. I'M not pregnant.)

The wallaby was running away from me 'cos it reminded me of coby and i wanted to cuddle it. he did let me cuddle him for 5 secs though. unfort photographer got distracted by something else and didn't get the shot.

Day 3
My cousin roobs and i. this was taken infront of the melbourne state library in the city.

Day 4

Queen Vic Market. i HAD to take tht second pic of the shirts.

This is how we look for bout an hour after we reach back frm our outings. and after an hour we're all running around the house again. LOL. As u can see, the photographer was trying to get everyone to smile but failed quite badly (I think there was tour de france on tv). Thats alan behind and infront of him is Karthig (in blue) who came to visit (he is my bro's fren's cousin) he returned back to singapore today. He spent one month holidaying ard australia and melb was his last stop. I was quite glad that Alan n Karthig instantly clicked when they met each other. When Alan n karthig are together they make the funniest jokes in the whole wide world. Anybody who's entering NUS on august 4th and need a new friend, please feel free to ask me for Karthig's number.

First day/night back in adelaide

At Saffron, the Indian Restaurant. My Mango Lassi. Yummy naan, which even the guys couldnt finish. Lamb korma and Beef Vindaloo and our assorted tandoori/kebab (which is not in the pic) and of course Basmati rice. OH and dessert was gulab jamun with ice cream.

Okay, the next part of this entry is reallllllly long due. I went to a german village up in the hills sometime back (last month?) called Hahndorf. It was such a quiet, pretty place which i will definitely bring Rit to when she comes over here.

Yes, the german sausages were super yummy.

Okay, i will end the entry here.
3 more papers to go and its 3 degrees tonight!

I'm Baaaack! and the pope's in australia.
I got back from melbourne early thursday morning (17/07) and it just felt soo odd.
ONE WORD i can use to sum up how ive been feeling the past couple of days is...ODD.

ODD

back to my melbourne story:

Friday (11/07) after classes alan n i left for melbourne at 8pm and we embarked on our 10 hr journey. all tht helped us thru the bus ride was,
1. our PSPs

2. my ipod
3. our 2am stop at macs in ballarat

i slept a grand total of 10 mins in tht 10 hrs..so when we arrived at melbourne at approx 615am in the morning, alan had to face grumpy, old revathi.
it was freezing cold at the train station and it didnt help tht random drunkards wanted to take photos when i was minding my own business. ok fine, he was quite a friendly, harmless drunkard but at 6++am in the morning?!

finally took the right train down to the right station where my brother's friend picked us up and brought us back to his place where we were going to put up for for the next 5 days.

we visited great ocean road, 12 apostles, philip island which included the wildlife park & nobbies on saturday and sunday. i thoroughly enjoyed feeding the animals in the wildlife park it was sooooo fun! the cassowarys and emus were like the dumbest n funniest creatures ard. they just pecked away at ur hand when u fed them n i wld erupt into laughter cos it was such a weird sensation.
And we went to the city, queen victoria market, chappeli's on mon and tues.

most of our evenings were spent at home but it was good fun 'cos my brother's fren had interesting housemates. we spent an entire night solving word/pic puzzles. it was quite hilarious to see 7 of us sitting round the table with one piece of paper in the centre.

i kept being asked whether i like adelaide or melbourne more. and whenever i gave my answer (which was obviously adelaide) they (the melbournians) wld all go "yeh rite!"
i mean, melbourne wld b a good place to visit. but personally, adelaide is somewhere i wld wanna live in. its just my preference. yes, adelaide may seem like a deadtown but thts how i like it.

i also met my cousin rooobs! it just felt soo good to meet family in foreign land. we chatted like we've never chatted before in our entire lives. we actually had a 4hr heart to heart which left one of the guys asking "WHAT do u girls talk bout for 4 whole hours?" he..he..he.

do visit melbourne, if u havent. highly recommended.

i cant wait for rit to come down. i swear im counting down like a crazy woman. 20 more days!

i was quite touched. when i returned on thursday, i was telling my frens tht it felt odd coming back from a foreign land to.... a foreign land which i call home. So they decided to take me out to dinner to a really nice indian restaurant called Saffron. The ambience was beautiful and we had a 5 course meal. n i had authentic mango lassi. yum. n then we all came back to my hostel n bumped into south african boy who was having a party in his room. there was too much alcohol and shit talk tht i cld barely stay for 15 mins. ew.

its really funny how there's always someone or something that stops u from getting to know someone worth getting to know. n it always has to be sooo dramatic.
i ate n heard soo much junk in melbourne. i need to detox.
i hope this week of exams zooms past.
ive been speaking soo much to the oldest brother tht he now knows anything and everything bout me. from boys to toys.
and he said "i hope i have a daughter like you in future."
i hope he doesnt regret saying that.

AND

BLOGGER IS NOT ALLOWING ME TO POST PICS! @#$%^&*#$@$%$%%^&$%@$!

I'm actually quite tired. But i just don't feel like sleeping yet.
today during class, i embarrassed myself by shouting out the wrong answer...TWICE. and of course, this HAD to be my one of two classes which i share with venezuela boy. SIGH.

n after shouting out my answers, my lecturer wld say,
"Yes i do realise that we will eventually get to the answer by eliminating the options one by one, but no Revathi, that is not the answer"
and i only had to choose between one of two options 'cos everything else was already eliminated.

i do realise that if VB decides to google my name, he would find this blog and he would realise what a moron i am.
AND THEN Sam, you can very, very, safely and appropriately say,
"He read your blog and freaked out."

Monday, July 07, 2008

Apparently, today was the coldest day in Adelaide in the last 3 years. My friends and i were running down the streets in a huddle, seems like quite a sight, but yeah, everyone was doing the same to keep warm. Plus we just kept eating and eating in between lessons. God was it cold.
and...... alan n i finally booked the tix. sooooo:
I'M GOING TO MELBOURNE!
will be leaving this friday, after lessons and returning on wednesday morning (or later). WOOOoooHHHhhoooo! can't wait, can't wait.
3 more days!

I'll love you endlessly,
but darling don't you see,
I can't be satisfied.

let me blog while im still high on honey toast & crazily spicy chinese food.

this week was quite a funny week. ive been visiting the library quite a bit, ok almost every weekday till 8pm and every single day, for the past week, my phone would ring after 6pm while i wld b deep in concentration and Alan (my fellow nerd/geek) would just burst out laughing cos they would be:

(a) mom's best friend, aunty Kogi from melbourne
or
(b) my aunty from sydney

who were both tryin to get me to come down to melb/sydney for my hols next, next week.
after much contemplation, i decided to go with melbourne 'cos:

(a)aunty kogi started persuading me weeks in advance
(b)its much nearer to adelaide (so its cheaper. foreign student on budget!)
(c)i was plannin on a brisbane-->canberra-->sydney at the end of the yr
(d) or maybe sydney in september
(e)dunno. just don't feel like sydney right now. NTH to do with any particular person.

anyway, i decided to jinx my melbourne trip and announce it here before ive even booked my ticket. Alan will b booking the tickets tomorrow and pray, pray, pray they're not sold out yet.

RIT IS COMING TO ADELAIDE in august! for 2 freaking weeks! WooooooooHoooooooooo!
boy do i have loads to look forward to now. you'll definitely be missed sam. i really wish u could come along =(
then we cld all three sip hot chocolate at the balcony n watch the stars. nvm, rit n i will hv ur share of fun. hehe. feel free to send scarves thru rit. muack. (grey or black wld be nice).

right now as i speak, aruna's mom is halfway thru her flight to singapore to go visit her sister and my parents and my coby for 2 weeks. lucky aunty.

u noe, while i was out shopping with aruna last weekend, i was thinking of how things have changed. i met her when we were both in K1, which is 16 yrs ago. and we both went to st.margaret's pri and spent 6 awesome years together. we used to practically live in each other's houses, have family dinners... those were the days.
after tht, she chose to go to st.margaret's secondary and i to chij stc, but we did remain in contact. she left for adelaide when she turned 14 n she used to call me, on my birthday on random days. but slowly the calls dwindled n i, being an idiot (whts up with me and phone numbers?!!) never took down her number and i shifted (new phone number). so for 7 years, we never spoke to each other. coincidentally though, just when i had decided to pursue my education in adelaide this yr, she found me thru a friend on FACEBOOK and boy am i glad she did. she's grown soo much since. i used to rmb her as this tomboy with this cheeky grin on her face who would constantly be running all ard school, kinda like xx. and i used to be this snotty kid who had my nose in the air and walk like i was walkin on clouds, but we got along soo awesomely well.
i rmb how when i was meeting her for the first time after 7 yrs, as i walked through my hostel front door and saw her from a distance, i couldnt help but think "God, she's beautiful."
and then she started filling me in on details tht ive missed out for 7 yrs or at least bits of it. there r still gaps yet to fill out, but i noe tht we both have such wonderful n similar taste in clothes & food. haha. yay, st marg's has done us good.
i guess we both noe that we cant be the best of friends like how we were 'cos soo much has happened in the past 7 years. we both have our new friends, new life, new loves.
new friends who have shared possibly the craziest 7 years of our lives that transformed us into wht we are today. it's funny what 7 yrs can do huh? well, she will be a really good fren despite tht 7 yrs of separation.

ok im hungry n happy tht makes me extra hungry. shall contemplate more bout r/ships later.
